Sunday marked another day in a week of volatile weather. We’re getting the rain we’ve needed; but it’s heavy, with thunder and lightning, and all at once! One minute it’s sunny; then it’s dark and gloomy with flashing lightning and sheets of rain; followed by rainbows, sunny, while it’s still raining. August has been incredibly WET in Connecticut!

The corn has had a nice, long drink. (The long blades are NOT sticking up, which my farmer Dad always said was a sign of lack of water.)
. . . even the Mermaid seems to approve of all this water!

The only one who doesn't seem to relish all this rain--and the rumbling thunder--is Eddie the Sheepdog!

What Flower
Are You?

Oh, poor Eddie!
As he gets older (and harder of hearing and seeing), he enjoys staying close to home during storms. Here, he had just come inside after being out in the rain, and was enjoying being cuddled up, after a snack.
all your plants and flowers look so healthy and GREEN….not like here in SUNNY california…dry as a bone as I tried to show in my sunday stroll….poor doggie doesn’t look to happy tho
Linda,
It always seems to be feast or famine. Wish we could share some of this rain with you and I’d take some of that sun! Loved your stroll; thanks for sharing!
Ruth, I thought I left a comment on this last Sunday or Monday. I just wanted to tell you that the color in these photos is delicious! My pumpkins are still little green things. *grin* I’m glad you strolled, and hope you will again this week.
A pond and a river AND a pool!! Waterwoman, you are! Do the dogs ever jump in the pool?
Yes, the dogs love the pool, too, and they’re welcome there. The funny this is now, they don’t venture off the stairs. Once Duke fell in and was quite frightened, although he swam just fine to the stairs and hopped out! I think they prefer being able to touch bottom, that’s why they prefer the pond or river!
Amazing pictures

Thanks, Sis!
