FOR A GOOD SUMMER READ?

As for me, I’m usually catching up with ”educational literature” over the summer and  just finished re-reading Jonathan Kozol’s Savage Inequalities, which exposes the extreme differences between wealth and poverty in America’s school system.

For a light, fun, beach read, I’m just finishing Elin Hilderbrand’s The Beach Club.  She’s got a bunch of nice, light summer titles that you might enjoy.

I recently came across this book at one of our school’s Book Fairs and I just couldn’t resist!  The authors of “Our Class is Going Green!” are kindergarten students from Oklahoma.  They tell about all the ways they are reducing, reusing, and recycling in their classroom, in kid-friendly language.  The book is also illustrated by the youngsters and is printed on recycled paper.  Do you have little budding environmentalists that you’d like to share this book with?  Find out more by clicking here.
