Fall has arrived in all its glory on our farm.  We’ve officially made the transition to this wonderful harvest season and a recent stroll around the farm vividly displays all the colors of fall . . .

Fall has arrived on the farm in all its glory.  What do the colors of fall look like in your neck of the woods?

Just when I thought all the colors were gone from my garden (due to earlier killing frosts), I noticed these still-lovely, bright yellow strawflowers today . . .

And, even though my hydrangea looks sienna and crispy and the pool is hidden beneath a blanket of leaves . . .

Color abounds in the newly-fallen leaves and in the bright orange pumpkins that squirrels are quickly devouring. . .

I’m also enjoying a gorgeous bouquet of autumn colors that my daughter brought me . . .

. . . as well as these precious pink roses that my sister-in-law surprised me with!

It’s that wondrous time of year, when the beauty of nature is all around us.  In southern New England, we are truly appreciating all the colors of fall, especially on the farm.  It’s a little past the height of the season for leaf peepers’ enjoyment, but here are some pix from the last week . . .

Ready or not, it is quite evident that summer is fast-forwarding into fall as I stroll through the farm on this last day of August!  Many of us are so consumed with back-to-school schedules, that we barely have time to notice!

The beautiful, bright, summery hues of flowing pansies

are soon replaced by the budding colors of autumn mums . . .

The Macoun apples are ripening on the trees . . .

The pear tree boughs are laden with golden-green fruit . . .

. . . and the goose squash (aka birdhouse gourds) are peeking out from under  leafy vines. . .

These funny-looking gourds always make for great conversation pieces!

Corn-on-the-cob is still in abundance and soon we’ll be thinking about decorating with these leafy, dried cornstalks in the pumpkin patch!
