Launching a New Blog! March 23, 2009

Abbie over at Farmer’s Daughter (and my daughter in real life, as many of you know) and I are so excited to be collaborating on a new blog for our family’s 12th generation family farm, Rose Orchards.  To view it, please click here or cruise on over to:   http://roseorchards.wordpress.com/

Tractor-drawn hayrides around the farm are a favorite fall activity!

Frozen custard lovers line up at the ice cream window, next to the bags of freshly-picked Macoun apples.

The water wheel barn, complete with fish pond, is another favorite place to visit, also home to our newest member of the family, Annabelle!

  1. Yes, this will be a fun new blog. So is it my turn to post on there next? 🙂

  2. It’s a joint effort. I’m excited about doing it together, along with other family members.

Tag, you’re it! Yes, it’s your turn!

  3. Lisa Says:

Oh this is awesome!! So now I have to get my husband to take me to Connecticut…

  4. Ruth Says:

YES! Thanks, Lisa, for your kind comments! We love visitors to the farm . . .

  5. Green Mamma Says:

Hooray! Now I can visit Rose Farms (virtually) whenever I want, =). Then I can call up my mother-in-law and tell her what’s going on over there. Good all around, =).

  6. Thanks, Green Mamma! It’s true that your mother-in-law is practically our neighbor and we have fond memories of your DH getting his start in the working world picking strawberries on our farm. Can he remember back that far? Just kidding . . . great memories!

I can also remember (and I have the photos to prove it!) Abbie at about 4 or 5 years old out picking strawberries with our family–in style. She had on a bathing suit, sunglasses, and set up a tiny lawnchair while she munched berries as she picked berries to fill quart baskets.

    Great memories all around!

Bet you can’t wait to start harvesting some of your fruits and vegetables with your own dear little Annabelle!
